Meet Our Flute Instructor: Kiana Fatemifar
Kiana Fatemifar is a flutist, pianist, and dedicated music educator originally from Tehran, Iran. She began playing piano at age 10 and entered the Music Conservatory at 13, where she discovered her passion for the flute, which soon became her primary instrument.
Kiana holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Tehran and a Master of Music in Flute Performance from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she also earned a certificate in Music History Pedagogy.
She is currently a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate in Flute Performance at Texas Christian University
Her impressive performance career includes recognition in national and international competitions, such as awards from the National Flute Association and the National Youth Music Festival in Tehran.
Alongside performing, Kiana is a passionate teacher, certified in the Orff Schulwerk approach, which combines movement, rhythm, creativity, and play to support children’s natural musical development.
