Yiyi Gao holds a PhD in Music theory with a minor in Piano Pedagogy from the University of North Texas, one of the most prestigious music schools globally. Dr. Gao has been an active pianist at churches in DFW areas and a dynamic educator. She has taught at the University of North Texas and Dallas Baptist University as faculty for undergraduate core music courses. Yiyi is also a public speaker and scholar who presented papers on traditional music topics at the Society for Music Theory international annual meeting in 2022 and 2023. She published articles in Music Culture Studies, Journal of Zhejiang Conservatory of China and peer-reviewed journal Harmonia at the University of North Texas, and a publisher Musikproduktion Höflich München.
