PRIVATE LESSONS POLICY

Dear Parents,

As we embark on another enriching academic year at Young Artist Music School, we want to ensure that you are well-informed about our Private Lesson Policies. Please review the details below to facilitate a smooth and transparent experience for both you and your child.

SCHOOL POLICIES

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE:

  • Registration ($45) enrolls a student for the entire semester.
  • New students are accepted throughout the year when space is available. Lesson times arranged at registration are considered permanent for the semester.

TUITION AND FEES:

  • Tuition payments can be made monthly or for the entire semester.
  • Semester Payment Discount: $50 off for upfront semester payment.
  • Monthly Payment: Automatically processed on the 1st day of each month.
  • Declined Payments: 5-day grace period to resolve; $35 late fee after grace period.

EXTRA CHARGES:

  • Charges for books, school events, DMTA, recital fees, and rental fees added to the tuition of the month.

ENROLLMENT:

  • An annual enrollment fee ($45) is required, renewed on your anniversary date.
  • Automatic re-enrollment unless a 30-day cancellation request is submitted.

DISCOUNTS:

  • 5% sibling discount, applicable to private lessons for a second instrument.
  • Referral Credit: Reduce your invoice by one lesson cost for each referred family who enrolls.

ATTENDANCE AND MISSED LESSONS:

  • Minimum of 3 lessons per month; exceptions apply for holidays and teacher conflicts.
  • Adjustments before the 25th of the current month; after, makeup classes or no refunds.
  • Makeup classes scheduled within a month; up to TWO (2) make-up classes per semester.
  • Refunds or credits not provided for missed classes.

LESSON DETAILS:

  • Private lesson times arranged at registration are considered permanent.
  • Time change requests can be submitted but are subject to availability.

LESSONS AT THE SCHOOL / HOME:

  • Arrive 5 minutes early with necessary items.
  • Lessons at home: Be ready 1 minute after the teacher arrives.
  • Late Arrivals: A 15-minute wait; after, a “No Show” is declared with no makeup lesson.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

  • 30-day written notice required for private lessons.
  • Email cancellation request to helloyoungartistmusic@gmail.com with the provided details.
  • Tuition is non-refundable and non-transferable; 1 month’s notice required.

SUMMER LESSONS:

  • Six (6) Summer Lessons are mandatory.

INSTRUCTOR CONTINUITY:

  • YAMS doesn’t guarantee instructor continuity; changes may occur.
